ARQUITECTURA E INTERIORISMO

So it was one of those nights when old bands reunite to play and have some fun, Scenarium was the spot to be at.

Opening act was taken by Jardín de Huesos,  joined at the very end by a choir of other singers present there.

Nativa Geranio was the second act, they were a pretty popular band back in the early 90’s (as far as I remember), they moved the crowds with their ska beats, it was a lot of fun to be there.

You can look them up in Spotify too!

ADRENALINA -LIVE 2017

What a better way to close this year!,  to be called to join the Adrenalina team for a second time to immortalize this concert!

The gig took place in Scenarium, Multiplaza, in San Salvador, the coolest concert joint these days here.

Prior to the concert, two bands opened: Jardín de Huesos and Nativa Geranio, which we hadn’t heard of in a while since the 90’s! To me, was like bringing back time when hanging out. But for the fans who came it was just a blast!

SHE SAID YES!

My friend Mario -who is a great photographer- asked me to help him catch a few photos, his brother Carlos, who had it all planned out to make it a surprise,  was going to pop the question to his loved girlfriend Élida.

It was a really foggy afternoon up on the San Salvador Volcano, there are restaurants up there where you have a wonderful view of the city,  nevertheless that did not stop us from hiding on the background and wait to come out to catch the very moment when he asked her to become his wife! That was awesome! -Shooting in fog can be tricky too!-

And so, they will become a family soon,  I really wish them all the happiness in the world!

AN ENGLISH PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT

I had offered my niece to shoot her pre-wedding arrangements, the main reason of our trip on the other side of the pond in fact! We had promised her to be there for that special date.

Anyway, the days before the wedding were kind of in a rush, trying to make it just in time for everything even catching the train to Royal Leamington Spa! We had to make a run for it!!

The very same day, we woke up early so that I could have time to fix my equipment, catch a bite -sorry, I tend to malfunction if I don’t eat breakfast-, and meet up at the apartment where the girls were getting ready.

I have to thank James Watson and Desiree Benko for letting me try their lenses too, I might get me an 85mm pretty soon!

Here are some of the pics I took.

THE UK TRIP

I’ve been trying to land back into reality after taking 15 days off work (my office job) to go to England and some other European countries. For us 15 days is a luxury worth a lifetime since living in a country like El Salvador can become hectic at times.

There were many things that caught my attention there, people were just amazing, we felt welcome, the city is full of life, friendliness, music, it felt safe even though we were aware of the situation nowadays, I think many cultures converge there, it was some experience to visit. The food, the pubs -something we needed to try- was just great!

To me it was a gratifying experience to go back to the other side of the pond and revive -in a way- my old life over there 15 years ago -or so-, it all felt so familiar somehow.

But the most priceless thing, besides going with my hubby, was getting some amazing photographs._DSC8729-2

My camera never felt heavy while walking…and  we did take really long walks around these touristic spots, at first I was a bit scared to carry it out around, but somehow I got over it. I was just another tourist after all. 🙂

THE CHARM OF THE OLD LOOK

There are some beautiful old towns here in El Salvador, and many times I’ve come across things , old things, those that aren’t made anymore, like thick wooden doors that have been aged by the sun and time, windows rounded by cracks, really old door knobs made out of rusty iron

.  I always need to stop and shoot a photo to have them in my memory.

Old things have  a certain charm to me, they simply become original and unique pieces that won’t be found anywhere else.

RANDOM TRIPS

Por ahí, por donde me lleva el camino y si ando la cámara es mejor aun.

I’ve always had my thing for traveling, I’ve had the opportunity to go to different places and try to learn from them.
I love the idea of trying different tastes, seeing different colors, cultures and experiment a little of each.

Even a simple walk through an old town, which sometimes can be a bit dangerous while carrying the camera is part of the adventure.

Let’s hope I can keep doing those short escapes.
